About us

Lars Kreckel is founder of Sentiment Matters and an experienced macro and equity strategist.

​In over 20 years in investment research on both the sell-side and the buy-side Lars has focussed on investment strategy throughout. His main focus has been in equity strategy with responsibility for equity views and investment decisions, covering regions, sectors, styles and themes.

​Over the past decade, Lars has increasingly concentrated on the role investor sentiment and positioning play in investment decisions and outcomes — and on how to systematically integrate sentiment analysis into the investment process.

​Before founding Sentiment Matters, Lars was Global Equity Strategist at Legal & General Investment Management. Earlier in his career, he held senior equity strategy roles at Exane BNP Paribas, ABN Amro, and Commerzbank.

He holds a Diplom-Kaufmann degree from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany.
